Pop-Up Folk Choir: The Parting Glass

Come sing a beautiful Irish folk song with a room full of strangers and leave sounding like a choir.

Join composer and vocalist Neusha Taherian for a one-day community choir experience centered around the beloved Irish folk song The Parting Glass.

The session begins with a guided deep listening and vocal centering practice, inviting participants to slow down, tune their ears, and connect with the collective sound of the group. From there, we will learn the melody and lyrics together before exploring simple harmonies inspired by traditional folk singing.

Over the course of the workshop, singers will rehearse the piece as an ensemble and finish the evening with a filmed performance of the song.

This event is designed to be welcoming and accessible: no choir experience required. Just bring your voice and a willingness to listen and sing together.
