Los Angeles based, Australian composition, songwriting, and orchestration duo Carisa Bianca Mellado and Andrew Dalziell have been working together in a musical partnership since 2016. Founded on their mutual passion for film score, opera, folk, world and dark, romantic music, the duo formed an alliance based on shared aesthetics and a love of film, experimental art and mythology.
Carisa, a bass player and virtuosic singer with a four octave vocal range, and Andrew, a cellist, guitarist and drummer, have scored operas, plays and several films. Some recent credits include the award winning film, Miniature Life, directed by Stevie Cavalier, Kapō, directed by Etienne Aurelius and produced by Chelsea Winstanley (Jojo Rabbit, What We Do In The Shadows); the documentary, Nature Humaine: A journey into the art of Jean Paul Boudier, Pele Pictures; and Une Promenade Gâchée directed by Michael Salerno (Kiddiepunk).
Carisa and Andrew are the founders of The Night Temple, a company that produces string orchestra and choir events, films, a podcast, and provides orchestration and arrangements for indie artists and film scores. At their venue, The Night Temple @Voxx, they host artistically focused music events, art film screenings, and special events featuring The Night Temple Orchestra. They also host a monthly string orchestra event in the Franklin Hills, featuring award winning film composers performances over a stunning view of Los Angeles. The Night Temple Orchestra is usually a string section in quartet, quintet or 10 piece formation, although larger ensembles are also available. The Night Temple Orchestra also features a choir of women singers.
The duo also have a band called Night Tongue, which is an eclectic genre-bending band that incorporates multiple styles. They have toured Europe, the US, and Australia, toured with post-rock band, Mogwai, and recently had a song "Huntress" featured in the film "Succubus", starring Ron Perlman and Rosanna Arquette.
