Jessica Rose Weiss

Composer, American Horror Stories, No Hard Feelings, The Kill Room, The Independent

Jessica is part of the next generation of talent bursting into the industry. Last year, she completed the score for the Jennifer Lawrence hit film “No Hard Feelings,” as well as Amy Rice’s political thriller “The Independent” starring John Cena and Brian Cox and Nicol Paone’s crime caper “The Kill Room,” starring Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. Her most recent projects include Pierre Morel’s action thriller “Canary Black” and Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Stories.”

Jessica has created an impressive body of work across multiple music genres ranging from folk to electronic to orchestral. Credits include Sony/Amazon’s “Cinderella,” directed by Kay Cannon, which was the #1 streaming film Worldwide. For this achievement, she won her first BMI Award. Other projects include “Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men” (featuring a collaboration with pop sensation Sia), the Dolly Parton-produced Women’s Rights documentary “Still Working 9 to 5,”and Amazon’s dramedy “Don’t Make Me Go” starring John Cho and directed by Hannah Marks.

She first fell in love with music studying ballet and theatre in New York City in her youth, and this passion eventually led her to Warner Brothers Studios in London. It was there that she was recruited by Hans Zimmer to apprentice at Remote Control Productions. After years working her way up the ladder as a music editor and additional composer, she found a life-changing mentorship in film composition working side by side with Academy Award-winning composer Mychael Danna.

Jessica is an alumni of the Universal/Dreamworks Composers Initiative and a proud member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers. In addition to her film work, her music has been performed on stages around the world, from The Globe Theater in London to The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago to The Wiltern Theatre in LA.
