Waz & Jamie Jackson

Composer, Bad Monkey

Dynamic composing duo, Waz and Jamie Jackson are renowned for their ability to craft sonic landscapes across a diverse set of genres. The duo has worked for a covetous list of creators, showrunners and filmmakers, including Bill Lawrence, Mike Daniels, Dean Georgaris, Adam Sztykiel, Shonda Rhimes, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, Patrick Schumaker and Justin Halperin.

Their latest work for Apple TVʼs Bad Monkey from EP Bill Lawrence is a study in the advantages of the coupleʼs dual sensibilities — Jamie, Mississippi native with a background in classical piano and Waz, a self-taught guitarist from Ohio — created an atmospheric score that captures the showʼs complexities through driving, rhythmic beats, orchestral reverberations, and startling Tom Petty covers. While their distinctive partnership has made them a favorite in the world of film and TV, each is an accomplished solo artist in their own right, with a catalogue of songwriting, producing and performer credits which have received accolades from the likes of the LA Times, Billboard Magazine, Bust Magazine & Rolling Stone. Next up for Waz and Jamie is Amazonʼs coming of age ensemble

drama, Motorheads, and the launch of Slay the Day, Jamieʼs multi-disciplinary collective focused on championing women, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists across the media landscape. In addition to composing for TV & Film, Jamie has an extensive catalogue of songwriting, producing and performing credits under her belt, with accolades from the likes of the LA Times, Billboard, Bust and Rolling Stone magazine. Next up for Jamie is Amazonʼs coming of age ensemble drama, “Motorheads,” “Itʼs Dorothy”—a Tribeca Film festival premier—an album with actress Jena Malone, and the launch of Slay the Day, Jamieʼs multi-disciplinary collective focused on championing women, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists across the media landscape.
