
Anne-Kathrin Dern
Composer of Metro Awakening, Woodwalkers, and the Claus Family Trilogy

Anne-Kathrin Dern is a German-American media composer who is best known for scoring several Netflix titles ("The Claus Family" trilogy, "Fearless") and a variety of Hallmark movies. She has also written video game scores for Tencent Games ("Honor of Kings") and Vertigo Games ("Metro Awakening"). Anne has collaborated with and assisted composers such as Christopher Lennertz, Klaus Badelt, Steve Jablonsky, and Pinar Toprak. Additionally, she interned at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions and was a selected participant in the 2016 ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop.
Anne's most recent release is the second part of the "Woodwalkers" trilogy by Blue Eyes Fiction/Studiocanal. She is currently writing the score for the video game "The Way of the Onari" and her next Hallmark production "Kentucky Roses" will release in May 2026.
She holds award nominations from the SCL, ASCAP, the IFMCA, the Jerry Goldsmith Awards, and the HMMAs. The album "Women Warriors: Voices of Change", which features her music alongside other female composers, won a Grammy Award in 2022.
Showing initiative to promote the visibility of women in film scoring, Dern served as an elected board member of the AWFC from 2019-2021. Additionally, with over 56,000 subscribers, she runs a successful educational YouTube channel, in an effort to provide free industry knowledge to the aspiring composer community. Anne currently holds a seat on the SCL Early Career
Committee. She was also invited to be a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Television Academy.
