David Schwartz

Emmy-winning composer of Arrested Development, Deadwood, The Good Place and A Man on the Inside

David Schwartz is an Emmy-winning composer whose work includes acclaimed series such as Arrested Development, Deadwood (Emmy-nominated for its main title), The Good Place and Veep. Known for his versatile, narrative-driven scores, he has helped shape the tone of some of television’s most celebrated comedies and dramas.

After studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York and the Berklee College of Music, he built a broad musical foundation performing across genres before moving into film and television in 1990. His breakthrough came with Northern Exposure, earning a Grammy nomination for its iconic theme and scoring all seven seasons.

His recent work includes the Emmy-winning documentary Lucy and Desi and Charlie Hustle & the Matter of Pete Rose. Most recently, he scored Season 2 of A Man on the Inside and is set to return for its upcoming third season, while also working on a forthcoming documentary about Crosby, Stills & Nash.
