Diane Mercer
Emmy-winning Producer, Executive Producer of Apple TV’s “Pluribus.”

DIANE MERCER is an Emmy-winning Producer whose credits include some of the
most respected and successful series of the “peak TV” era. Best known for her work
on “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” she continues her long association with
showrunner Vince Gilligan as an Executive Producer of Apple TV’s “Pluribus.”
Originally from New York, Diane started her career in late night comedy before
moving to Los Angeles in pursuit of her dream to produce episodic television. After
learning the ropes on shows such as “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher” and the
ahead-of-its-time 1999 Hollywood satire “Action,” she stumbled into a job as a Post
Production Supervisor and found her calling. Her choice paid off three years later
when she became Associate Producer of the groundbreaking FOX comedy “Arrested
Development,” rising to Co-Producer by the end of the initial three season run.
In 2008 she joined “Breaking Bad” at the start of season two, continuing with the
team for the acclaimed prequel series “Better Call Saul” and the Netflix sequel film,
“El Camino.” Over the years as the scripts grew in ambition, she was instrumental in
helping the production meet the demands of the story with increasingly complex
visual effects, color grading, music, and painstakingly detailed sound work that
remains influential to this day.
“Pluribus” is Gilligan’s biggest project yet, bringing his trademark cinematic style to
a deeply human story with a global scope. As an Executive Producer, Diane’s role
expanded to include oversight of production and marketing alongside her
stewardship of post. Working more closely with the longtime Albuquerque crew
was a career highlight that she’s excited to repeat in season two.
In her free time Diane loves to travel with her partner of 27 years, Stu Hagen, and
their beloved miniature American shepherd, Logan.
