James Dooley

Emmy-winning composer of Pushing Daisies, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Walker and The Wayfinders

Jim Dooley is an Emmy Award–winning composer whose music for film, television, and video games is known for its memorable themes, emotional storytelling, and stylistic versatility. He received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition and a Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) for his score to the acclaimed television series Pushing Daisies. He also composed the music for The Longest Daycare, the Academy Award–nominated The Simpsons animated short.

Over the course of his career, Dooley has composed the scores for more than 200 episodes of television, including Walker, Wilfred, The Last Ship, and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

In the video game world, Dooley composed the score and songs for Epic Mickey and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, helping define the musical identity of the series. He also contributed music to the acclaimed inFAMOUS franchise, collaborating with electronic music superstar Amon Tobin and the New Orleans funk band Galactic.

His feature film scoring credits include When a Stranger Calls, Obsessed, Daddy Day Camp, and Disney’s animated feature The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.

Dooley worked for almost two decades alongside two-time Academy Award–winning composer Hans Zimmer, contributing additional music to films including The Da Vinci Code, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Madagascar and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

In addition to screen work, Dooley has written music for musicals and large-scale live entertainment productions, including shows for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and has collaborated with artists including Tony and Emmy Award–winning vocalist Kristin Chenoweth and Grammy Award–winning songwriter and producer Babyface.

Most recently, Dooley composed the score for the television series Wayfinders, with Season 1 available now and Season 2 scheduled for release next year.
