Benjamin Wallfisch Expands the Mythology of Derry with IT: Welcome to Derry Soundtrack (Volumes 1–4)

WaterTower Music has released Volumes 1–4 of IT: Welcome to Derry (Soundtrack from the HBO® Original Series), featuring a haunting and immersive score by composer Benjamin Wallfisch. The full soundtrack collection is available now on all major digital platforms, allowing fans to experience the complete musical arc of the HBO original prequel series.

The release marks a continuation of Wallfisch’s long-standing collaboration with filmmaker Andy Muschietti, following their work together on IT and IT: Chapter Two. Across all four volumes, Wallfisch expands the sonic mythology of Derry through a chilling blend of orchestral textures, ghostly motifs, and visceral sound design. The score deepens the psychological unease at the core of the series while tracing its emotional complexity, from quiet dread to full-blown terror.

Reflecting on the release, Wallfisch shares:

Set within Stephen King’s IT universe, IT: Welcome to Derry expands the world established in Muschietti’s feature films, drawing from King’s original novel while uncovering new layers of the town’s dark and haunted past. The series is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television and developed for television by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs. Executive producers include Andy and Barbara Muschietti through Double Dream, along with Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Bill Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. Fuchs and Kane serve as co-showrunners, with Fuchs writing the teleplay for the first episode.

Wallfisch, a Golden Globe, BAFTA, Emmy, 2x Grammy, and 5x World Soundtrack Award–nominated composer, has scored more than 80 feature films. In 2025, he continued his collaboration with Muschietti on IT: Welcome to Derry and also co-scored the hit action film Predator: Badlands alongside Sarah Schachner.
