Earlier this week, I attended a screening of Jay Kelly at Netflix Epic, hosted by the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), what unfolded was a mesmerizing sense of nostalgia and self reflection that lingered long after the credits.

Last night, Deadline’s Sound & Screen: Film 2025 took over UCLA’s Royce Hall for an unforgettable evening celebrating this year’s most captivating film scores and songs. With a 60-piece orchestra and a lineup of Oscar winners, pop icons, and industry favorites, the event once again reminded audiences why music remains one of cinema’s most powerful storytelling forces.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles premiere of Guillermo del Toro ’s Frankenstein  at the Academy’s David Geffen Theater. The new Netflix film marks another collaboration between the Pinocchio  (2022) director and the streaming platform. Rather than creating another traditional monster horror story, Guillermo described the film as a “family drama,” as actress Mia Goth mentioned during the red carpet event. The movie is divided into two parts.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend an early screening of the new Apple TV+ movie The Lost Bus  at the historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Starring America Ferrera and Matthew McConaughey , the film tells the true story of California’s 2018 Camp Fire, the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state’s history. The story follows Kevin, a school bus driver, and Mary, an elementary school teacher, as they try to escape the wildfire while keeping the childre
