Widow’s Bay (Apple Original Series Soundtrack) is now available via Milan Records, featuring an original score by Emmy-winning composer David Fleming.
Released alongside the new Apple TV Plus series, which premiered to a rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the soundtrack captures the show’s eerie duality: equal parts coastal charm and creeping dread.
For Widow’s Bay, David Fleming builds a sonic world that mirrors the show’s tonal tension, blending horror and comedy into something unsettlingly cohesive.
Leaning into organic textures, the score incorporates foghorn-like swells, aged woodwinds, and textural elements that evoke something ancient lurking beneath the island’s surface. The result is a soundscape that feels both historically and immediately rooted in the town’s 18th-century past while colliding with its present-day unraveling.
Fleming explains:
“Curiosity and mystery are what pulled me into Widow’s Bay… I wanted the music to tap into the inseparable tonal blend of horror and comedy… the kind of scare that makes you scream and laugh at the same time.”
Created by Katie Dippold and directed by Hiro Murai, Widow’s Bay follows a struggling island community off the coast of New England, led by Mayor Tom Loftis (played by Matthew Rhys).
What begins as a hopeful attempt to revive the town quickly spirals as long-buried legends begin resurfacing, blurring the line between superstition and reality. The series thrives in that tension, and Fleming’s score becomes the connective tissue between its humor, humanity, and horror.

David Fleming continues to establish himself as one of the most in-demand composers working across film and television, known for crafting scores that balance emotional clarity with bold sonic world-building.
His recent credits include: Co-scoring The Last of Us (Season 2) alongside Gustavo Santaolalla, contributing to Dune and Top Gun: Maverick with Hans Zimmer, and his Emmy-winning score for Jim Henson: Idea Man, additional work on Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and A24’s Eternity.
Fleming first gained wider recognition through his ongoing collaboration with Zimmer, beginning with Blue Planet II, which helped launch a trajectory into large-scale studio projects while maintaining a distinct compositional voice.
Beyond screen scoring, he has also collaborated with artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, and Elton John, further reflecting his versatility, which moves fluidly between cinematic and contemporary music spaces.
Most recently, he co-scored Superman with James Gunn and is set to continue that collaboration on the upcoming sequel, expanding his presence within major franchise storytelling.
The first episodes of Widow’s Bay are now streaming on Apple TV Plus, with new episodes releasing weekly. The soundtrack is available now on all major platforms.
