Izzy Camina Returns With New EP Saline, Out December 5th via Helix Records

This Friday, December 5th, producer and songwriter Izzy Camina releases her new EP, Saline, on Helix Records. Previously announced under a different name, Saline serves as Camina’s first body of work since 2023’s ANG3L NUMB3RS. In celebration of the EP’s release, she’s invited her friends umru, DJ_Dave, Nation, Ali RQ, Cece Natalie, and more to perform at the release party this Friday in Brooklyn. Across Saline, Camina interrogates intense subject matter: “singular focus on transformation, through compulsive modes of (not necessarily sexual) eroticism and annihilation.” Occult and paranormal themes are fleshed out over pounding electronic sounds, converging into her signature alt-pop style. Hard techno bangers like “Grimoire” and “Seraphim” demonstrate Camina’s appreciation for heavy music, while melodic violin strings in “Neptune Mood” and the title track provide an epic air to her supernaturally-tinged lyrics.
“Over half of this EP is entirely self-produced, including ‘Neptune Mood’ aside from Shaan's violin,” shares Camina. “I generally prefer to produce on my own, as my vision gets lost in co-productions.”
Camina boasts influences ranging from the churning, MTV industrial thud of White Zombie to the pristine pop of Ariana Grande. Known for her singular alt-pop sound, she is fresh off NYC sets supporting Model/Actriz and The Dare, plus recent collaborations with Bipolar Sunshine and Ninajirachi. Her songs have also found love in both the fashion world and the big screen, with syncs with YSL and Dior as well as HBO’s The Penguin and M3GAN 2.0. Camina continues to blur the lines between the club, fashion, and underground culture.
Her self-produced EP Nihilist In The Club (2020) introduced the world to “Up N Down,” a track described by NME as “A paean to the saturnalia of youth and all the lows that come after.” In 2022, she worked in person with Hedi Slimane to soundtrack the CELINE Spring/Summer Men’s show in the south of France. Shortly after, her co-produced 2023 cyberspiritualist offering ANG3L NUMB3RS was described by Glamcult magazine as “piercing and cathartic in its liberation.”
