Jon von Boehm Shares New Jazz Fusion Single “Not Today,” Announces Album Reflections


Multifaceted artist and acclaimed bassist Jon von Boehm has released his new single “Not Today,” the first taste of his upcoming fourth album, Reflections, arriving this March. Out now via Space Donkey Records, the track opens the record with a dynamic, five-minute instrumental that showcases von Boehm’s signature blend of jazz fusion, instrumental rock, and classic rhythm and blues.


“Not Today” features an impressive lineup of collaborators von Boehm has connected with throughout his career as a sought-after session player. The track includes performances from drummers Marcus Finnie, Cory Ponder, Kyle Edmonston, and Michael Green, alongside guitarists Jake Patterson, Cole Clark, and John Gallo, resulting in a rich, expressive piece driven by tight grooves and emotional depth. Recorded in 2023 across multiple studios in Nashville, “Not Today” was written during a pivotal period of personal growth and transition for von Boehm, offering an early glimpse into the deeply reflective nature of the full album. Reflections serves as a culmination of his 38-year musical journey, weaving cinematic storytelling with a strong sense of community and collaboration.


Born and raised in Erie, PA, and shaped by years of church performances, jazz exploration, and mentorship under bass virtuoso Jeff Berlin, Jon von Boehm brings decades of experience and soul to Reflections, an album rooted in introspection, connection, and masterful musicianship.
