Nominations Announced for the 16th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards

The Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS) has announced the nominees for its 16th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in music supervision across film, television, documentaries, advertising, trailers, and video games. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, with tickets now available to the public.

This year’s nominations celebrate an impressive range of projects, with Sinners leading the field as the most-nominated title. The film received three nominations, recognizing Niki Sherrod’s music supervision as well as two original songs. Additional film contenders include Wicked: For Good, F1, Marty Supreme, Caught Stealing, and A Minecraft Movie, highlighting the breadth of creative voices shaping music-driven storytelling in cinema today.

Among this year’s film nominees is Jen Malone, recognized for her work on Caught Stealing in the Best Music Supervision in a Mid-Level Budget Film category. Malone is also a respected leader within the music supervision community and served as a panelist at the 2025 Music in Visual Media Conference.

Television categories also feature a strong and diverse slate of nominees, including acclaimed series such as The Studio, Dark Winds, Poker Face, The Righteous Gemstones, and XO, Kitty. Across both drama and comedy, this year’s selections underscore the essential role music supervisors play in shaping tone, emotion, and narrative cohesion across episodic content.

Guild President Lindsay Wolfington and Vice President Heather Guibert shared a joint statement celebrating this year’s nominees:

“In a year that was challenging for our city and our industry, we are excited to see an abundance of great work from the music supervision community - congratulations to our nominees! Pairing the right music and visuals is essential for evoking emotion, setting tone, and transporting audiences to new worlds. We have seen time and again how this vital pairing elevates content across all visual media. This year’s nominees once again highlight the importance of music supervision to storytelling."

The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards recognize not only technical excellence but also the creative instinct required to seamlessly integrate music into visual media. Icon and Legacy Award recipients, along with performers and celebrity presenters, will be announced at a later date.
