Thundercat Announces New North American Tour - the "Distracted AF Tour"

There's nothing that can slow Stephen Bruner down. Better known as Thundercat, Bruner has just finished up a tour supportung the Strokes and has just announced his own headlining tour - the "Distracted AF Tour." The master bassist/vocalist/songwriter/producer will be joined by Channel Tres (DJ Set), TiaCorine, Fera, 54 Ultra and Kitty Ca$h, an eclectic lineup to match Thundercat's wild, eclectic style. Fans can sign up for pre-sale tickets Thursday at 10AM local, and tickets will be on sale on Friday at 10AM local.

Collaboration comes naturally to Thundercat, and his latest output - 'Distracted' - is proof. Released on Brainfeeder, the album features an array of guests, from WILLOW to A$AP Rocky to The Lemon Twigs. Each guest bounces off a different aspect of Thundercat's diverse musical persona - one track is a duet featuring Bruner's iconic falsetto voice, another track is all about interplay between a guest MC and Bruner's scorching basslines. Guest artists are pushed to their artistic best around Thundercat - he always swings for the fences, and brings out the same in any collaborator.

'Distracted' has moments of spacey, almost somber vibes, but Bruner's cutting honesty is instantly relatable and genuinely funny. He's as comfortable in vintage funk as he is talking about 'Star Wars.' Rolling Stone says of Thundercat - he's “the rare talent who can build a career on the swampy but fertile soil where tragedy and comedy meet.”

Once Bruner's onstage - that's where everything comes together. His chops are in peak form from the Strokes' run and he's got a brand-new output of songs to share with the audience. "Los Angeles' King of the Bass" (The Los Angeles Times) dives in headfirst. Of all the parts Thundercat plays - virtuoso, crooner, comedian - each one gets highlighted and all come together in a live show that combines impossible musicianship and a silly sense of humor. A Thundercat concert is less a "concert," and more a hang with the most gifted person in the room.

Navigating life's intricacies and illuminating its idiosyncrasies has always been quintessential Thundercat, and as his profile has grown, so too has the scope of his creative reach. In recent months alone, he has attended Rick Owens' show during Paris Fashion Week, joined A$AP Rocky as a performer on 'Saturday Night Live,' and made appearances on 'Track Star' and 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'

In the six years since the release of his previous full-length album, 'It Is What It Is,' life has changed for Thundercat. The album's title became an unlikely catchphrase as the world came to a standstill in 2020. The same record also earned him the Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

As his star has continued to rise, so has his résumé. Collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Silk Sonic, Kaytranada, and Justice have kept him at the forefront of contemporary music, while his creative pursuits have expanded into acting with a role in 'Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett.'
