Jordan Power Returns with New Single “Yes Please,” Exploring Intimacy and Power Dynamics

Canadian singer-songwriter Jordan Power returns with his erotic new single “Yes Please,” his first release in over a year, marking a new chapter following his 2025 single "High Vibe."

The track arrives as part of an evolving body of work that continues to position Power within a contemporary pop landscape shaped by personal narrative and stylistic experimentation.

Yes Please” draws on late-night digital exchanges, translating them into a more immediate, unfiltered lyrical approach.

The song explores themes of intimacy, control, and emotional tension, framing modern relationships through a lens that prioritizes honesty over convention.

Sonically, the track combines sleek pop production with atmospheric layers, featuring a structured, Max Martin–style core and vocal tones reminiscent of Troye Sivan and Khalid.

Although Power identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, the track focuses on power dynamics within heterosexual couples as well.

Alongside the release, Jordan Power launches The Making of Flux, a mini-documentary series that follows the creation of his upcoming album Flux.

The first episode, centered on “Yes Please,” offers a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process in Los Angeles, documenting his collaboration with producer Rich Pilkington while exploring the themes that shape the project.

Reflecting on the track, Jordan Power shares:

“A lot of gay songs get wrapped in empowerment tropes and clichés to make them more palatable to a wider audience. They end up feeling like a heteronormative spectacle instead of a real experience. I wasn’t interested in that. I just wanted to say exactly what it is. I wasn’t interested in making a ‘gay song’ or a spectacle. I just happen to be a gay guy who makes art. It’s one piece of who I am. The song explores an honest dynamic that exists everywhere, and I treated it that way.”

Prior to his music career, Power built a presence as a media entrepreneur, syndicated columnist, and podcaster, then transitioned into music in 2024.

Since then, he has accumulated millions of streams and international radio play, drawing from influences such as Riley Pearce, Dermot Kennedy, and Taylor Swift, while developing a sound that blends narrative songwriting with contemporary pop production.
