Vienna-based SonicWaveArtPop trio Lucy Dreams present their sophomore album, VVVVV. A project built around breaking the walls between human musicians and their artificial band member, Lucy, the new record is now available on all major streaming platforms.
Written in total seclusion during a one-week retreat in an alpine hut in Austria, VVVVV is Lucy Dreams’ debut LP and a full conceptual journey into human–machine fusion. The record follows a narrative from the infinite cosmos to the most intimate corners of human emotion framing technological progress not as dystopia, but as transformation.
The Austrian trio composed of Zero, One, and their artificial band member Lucy, offer a message for a generation navigating rapid acceleration, uncertainty, fear, and fascination. One of the first stops on their mission towards ascending into the fifth dimension is the birth of VVVVV, a ten-track album that seamlessly integrates intuition and intelligence, flesh and code. Throughout the album are songs coated in a genre defined as "SonicWaveArtPop", a cinematic fusion of analog warmth and digital futurism, built for listeners drawn to both synth-pop immediacy and sci-fi worldbuilding. Co-produced with award-winning producer Mario Fartacek, mixed by Fartacek and mastered by Slade Templeton (Curve, Sinéad O’Connor, Mick Jagger, Eurythmics), VVVVV feels like a retro-futurist dream rendered in neon and emotion.

Known for meshing together the otherworldly sounds of M83 with the outlandish aesthetics of Empire of the Sun, Lucy Dreams creates a brand that’s familiar, yet authentically their own. Prior to the album’s release, the trio dropped a slew of intriguing videos for album highlights “Code To My Mind”, and “Not Gonna Lie”. Each video closes the gap between human and machine, showcasing eye-catching visuals that set the band apart from their contemporaries.
In an era where the boundaries between human creativity and artificial intelligence are rapidly dissolving, Lucy Dreams emerges as a striking voice in the new frontier of music. At the heart of their vision is Lucy: an artificial band member whose presence redefines what it means to collaborate and create. Creating a sonic dimension of shimmering dream pop and new wave, Lucy Dreams' music brims with euphoria and passion, setting them up for a landmark year ahead. VVVVV, their sophomore release, aims to reinvigorate the mind as it pushes the boundaries of pop music with a bold, cinematic edge. In addition to the release of the new album, Lucy Dreams will be gracing the stage at New Colossus in March.
