Two New Albums from Pluribus Arrive Today: Dave Porter Returns with Volume 2 Score and Original Soundtrack

Updated: Dec 26, 2025

Milan Records has released two new albums of music from Pluribus, the genre-bending Apple TV Original series created by Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan. Available today, December 26, are PLURIBUS: Volume 2 (Apple Original Series Score) by acclaimed composer Dave Porter and PLURIBUS (Apple Original Series Soundtrack), a curated collection of songs featured throughout the series.

Following last month’s debut of Volume 1, the newly released Volume 2 score continues Porter’s long-standing creative collaboration with Gilligan, marking a major milestone in their nearly two-decade partnership. For the first time on a Vince Gilligan project, Porter recorded with a full symphony orchestra and choir, crafting an entirely new sonic identity for the science-fiction drama. His work on Pluribus has already earned significant recognition, including two nominations at this year’s SCL Awards for Outstanding Original Title Sequence for a Television Production and Outstanding Original Score for a Television Production.

Speaking about the music, Vince Gilligan shared:

“Having collaborated with them now for nearly two decades, Dave Porter and Thomas Golubić continue to surprise and delight me. Their artistry increases each year, as does their enthusiasm. I can’t imagine doing a show without them.”

He continued, highlighting the expanded musical scope of the series:

“For the first time, Dave was able to have his compositions performed by a symphony orchestra and full choir. And Thomas was able to commission the creation of songs by artists all over the world… It may be their best work yet, and I’m excited for you to hear it.”

Complementing the score release is the full Pluribus soundtrack album, curated by longtime Gilligan collaborator and music supervisor Thomas Golubić. The soundtrack features cross-cultural covers and global artists, reinforcing the series’ international themes. Golubić explained the concept behind the selections: “Creating international covers of recognizable pop songs was our idea for the closing of each episode of Pluribus. Once we explored the concepts in the series and saw a parallel to themes of revolution and enlightenment in the counter-culture anthems from the late 1960s and 1970s, music coordinator Olivia Schlichting and I reached out to some of our favorite non-English language artists and paired them with songs that resonated creatively. We are delighted with these very unique and inspired interpretations and are excited for our audience to discover them with each episode."

For Porter, Pluribus represents a rare creative reset. “I’ve been so fortunate to collaborate with Vince Gilligan on all of his incredible projects, but Pluribus is special in that it is the first time since the pilot of Breaking Bad that we’ve had the opportunity to create an entirely new world to explore,” he said. “This was an exciting chance to take all that we have learned working together down to the studs and create an entirely new musical landscape that is uniquely Pluribus.”

Starring Rhea Seehorn alongside Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga, Pluribus centers on a darkly imaginative premise in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. The season one finale debuts today, with the complete first season now streaming on Apple TV.

With two expansive new releases now available, the music of Pluribus offers listeners a deeper immersion into the show’s emotional, philosophical, and global scope—both through Porter’s ambitious orchestral score and Golubić’s carefully curated soundtrack.
