The cult classic Wet Hot American Summer is celebrating its 25th anniversary right where it all began: at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. And this year, fans have a chance to get their hands on a piece of the film’s legacy in a playful, scavenger-hunt style event.
From January 23–25, copies of the vinyl soundtrack (and other surprise goodies) will be hidden around Park City. One prize package will be tucked away each day, from Friday, Saturday, through Sunday, waiting to be discovered.
Clues will be shared via director David Wain’s Instagram (@davidwain), where photo hints will point fans toward the hidden packages. Once found, winners are encouraged to post their discoveries on social media, tag David, and use the hashtag #wethotsundance.
The Wet Hot American Summer soundtrack features original songs and score by Craig Wedren and Theodore Shapiro. This year, Wedren reunites with David Wain at Sundance 25 years later with Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.
