Icelandic composer Högni unveils APEX (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film), now available alongside the film’s global premiere on Netflix. Departing from conventional thriller scoring, the project embraces an entirely organic approach, building a sonic environment shaped by the physical landscape in which it was created. Composed on location in Australia’s Blue Mountains, the soundtrack was developed over two months, with Högni intentionally avoiding electronic instrumentation.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles premiere of Guillermo del Toro ’s Frankenstein at the Academy’s David Geffen Theater. The new Netflix film marks another collaboration between the Pinocchio (2022) director and the streaming platform.
