Milan Records has released PLURIBUS: Volume 1 (Apple Original Series Score), featuring the first half of the original score from Apple TV+’s hit new science-fiction series Pluribus. Composed by Emmy-winning Vince Gilligan collaborator Dave Porter, the album arrives alongside two featured songs from last week’s episode and an official Apple Music playlist updated weekly with new music from the show.
Now streaming on Apple TV+ with new episodes every Friday, Pluribus marks a major creative evolution for Porter, whose long-standing partnership with Gilligan helped define the musical identity of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino. For the first time in their collaboration, Porter composed for a full symphony orchestra and choir, crafting a soundscape that matches the show’s sweeping scale and emotional intensity.
The series stars Rhea Seehorn—earning her third major Gilligan-led role after two Emmy nominations—alongside Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga. Set against a global narrative backdrop, Pluribus follows “the most miserable person on Earth,” tasked unexpectedly with saving humanity from enforced happiness. As the story expands across continents and consciousness, Porter’s score becomes a central storytelling force, shifting from intimate textures to grand, unsettling crescendos.
Gilligan reflects on the music’s ambitious scope:
"When we started talking about Pluribus, we knew it would have a global scope. But how could we express that musically? Apple TV, God bless them, encouraged us to take bigger swings than we’d ever taken before. For the first time, Dave was able to have his compositions performed by a symphony orchestra and full choir. And Thomas was able to commission the creation of songs by artists all over the world. What a step up that is from only being able to license existing recordings!"

Porter echoes that sentiment, describing Pluribus as an opportunity to rethink everything he and Gilligan had built together:
“For me, this was an exciting chance to take all that we have learned working together down to the studs and create an entirely new musical landscape that is uniquely Pluribus.”
Beyond the score, last week’s episode also debuts two new tracks sourced by longtime music supervisor Thomas Golubić: “Sumac” by Mexican producer and DJ Loris and “Vessel (Pluribus Edit)” by UK composer John Lemke. Golubić and music coordinator Olivia Schlichting curated an international lineup of artists to reinterpret classic counter-culture anthems—songs tied to themes of revolution, awakening, and the questioning of societal norms. These original reinterpretations close each episode, offering a global musical lens for the show’s central ideas.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, Pluribus continues a long tradition of Gilligan’s character-driven, morally complex storytelling—now elevated with Porter’s biggest and boldest musical canvas to date.
PLURIBUS: Volume 1 (Apple Original Series Score) by Dave Porter is available everywhere now.
